IHIAGWA AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITY MOURNS AN ICON

His Royal Highness, Eze James Onyekpandu Muruako (KSJI), JP was born in Ihiagwa in January, 1934 to late Muruako Nwogu and Elechi Emenyonu of Umuelem-Ihiagwa, Owerri-West Local Government of Imo State.
His Highness was a prolific writer and broadcaster per excellence, he as authored several books on family, community, spiritual, socio-economic and political developments as well global perspectives. As a traditional ruler, not only was he the Chairman of Owerri Local Government Council of Traditional Rulers, but also the Owerri Zonal Council and his dynamic leadershipled to the development and emergence of a modern ihiagwa community and dignity to tradition institution. as the community developer he charted to site federal university of technology owerri (futo) in ihiagwa and puhsed on until it relocated to its present permanent site at ihiagwa owerri-west LGA. He was a noble man of ancient and noble order of st.john internation and justiceof the peace and sponsored several religious groups and the church. He was also an active member of the nigerian isntitute of management, a one time president of national agricultural union of Nigeria (NAUN) and a Paul Harris fellow rotary club management. it is remarkable to mention his spouse of over 60 years, HRH, Ugueze Regina Muruako left him for the great beyond last year and he mourned her till his death. He is survived by six children who are professional in their chosen fields.
