Ugbele is an autonomous community in Mgbidi Imo State. Which shares Eke Mgbidi market with Orlu and Amorka, along the Onitsha to Owerri express road.


The Ugbele Day is celebrated every 1st of January every year to mark, celebrate and be thankful to God for the new year.


This is a celebration where all Ugbelites (home & abroad), friends and well-wishers gather at the center to witness dance performances, musicians perform and as always the mmanwu parade (masquerade).


The masquerades showcases the ome nala (tradition). This masquerades are also referred to as Mmuo (spirits) in the local or Igbo dialect. The masquerades are appeased with gifts, money or wines.
