ABOUT THE WORK (IN THE VEIN).
The work "In the vein" is done with oil on canvas & the size is 5ft-4ft. It shows an artist painting with
improvised colours (his blood)gushing out of his cut off fingers. The colours represent how much of the Art (talent) he's endowed with, which runs in him. His painting (a horse rider) 'coming to life' jumps out from the drawing surface; represents how much exploits he can achieve with his wild imaginations.
ABOUT THE ARTIST.
Chukwu Hyacinth-Kennedy Obioma is from Abo Uzoagba in Ikeduru LGA. of lmo state. A graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra state. There he obtained a B.A(Hons) in fine & applied arts, & he majored in paint. In 1996 & 1998, he won the state level of the National Art & Essay competitions, by
Nigerian Bottling Company plc. In 2013 he won in the professional category of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library National Art competition, & has also participated in several other art competitions. He is currently an art teacher & works in his private studio in Imo state.
